If you haven’t heard a Brazilian Tapir, you would think you had heard a bird! Read carefully to find out more! The Brazilian Tapir lives in the coolest places like Brazil which I bet is no surprise! The Brazilian Tapir lives in climates of 27.4 degrees Celsius! Whew that would be hot! You won’t believe this but the Brazilian tapir lives in dense forest! The Brazilian Tapir looks so cool! It can way up to 700 pounds! Wow that would be fat! But that doesn’t men the Brazilian Tapir’s very tall it’s only 3 feet to the shoulder! A grown Brazilian Tapir has dark brown fur. You’ll find out about the baby’s later and if you paid attention you would have heard the Brazilian Tapir has fur not scales or something like that! I think Brazilian Tapir’s are the cutest as babies! It has pale spots and stripes but it only has 1 baby and the pregnancy takes 13 months! But once it is born it stays with the mother for 2 years! So as you can guess it’s not on its own immediately! Since the Brazilian Tapir’s a mammal it’s officially not hatched so the only thing left is… live birth. This animal seems to eat everything listen carefully to find out why! It will eat leaves, buds, shoots, small branches, fruit, grasses and aquatic plants. As you can tell the Brazilian Tapir’s an herbivore and it gets its food in the weirdest way. The Brazilian Tapir uses its snout. Talk about a messy eater! I found 7 interesting facts so lets get started! Number 1, the Brazilian Tapir lives 25-30 years! They don’t live very long that’s for sure! Number 2, the Brazilian Tapir predators are the Jaguar and Cougar. I don’t know about you but that does not sound appetizing! Number 3, the Brazilian Tapir makes a whistling sound. In case you weren’t listening, it sounds pretty close to a loud bird. Number 4, the Brazilian Tapir has been here longer than we have and with how this world evolved that must be long! Number 5, the Brazilian Tapir has 14 toes 3 on each back foot and 4 on each front foot! Number 6, the Brazilian Tapir is related to the horse but to me they look nothing alike. Last but not least number 7, the Brazilian Tapir is endangered and I hope we can help the population of these animals return to normal levels! I hope you learned a lot. I know I did like there life span and the Brazilian Tapirs predators! But one last thing if you heard the Brazilian Tapir was a mammal you would know the Brazilian Tapir is warm-blooded. |
