Over the past year, I've become quite addicted to scrapbooking. A friend got me interested and I quickly dove right in. There are so many techniques that one can use to make their album pages really stand out. I recently purchased a Cricut Expression which is the ultimate cutting tool. It's an electronic die cut machine capable of holding a 12" x 24" piece of paper, chipboard or vinyl, making cuts up to 23.5". You can purchase different font and shape cartridges that allow you to cut lettering and embellishments for your scrapbook pages, homemade cards and school projects. One really cool project that I recently discovered, but haven't had the chance to try, is glass etching. You cut stencils with the cricut on adhesive vinyl or contact paper, put it on the glass, apply etching creme and voila...a personalized gift or accent for your home!! I also picked up a bunch of cool tips and tricks on stamping, cardmaking and even storage solutions (for the insane amount of crap I've accumulated in order to do all this stuff) from a website I found. Go to http://thepinkstamper.blogspot.com/ for all kinds of info. The owner of the site, Robyn, makes videos of her projects that are easy to follow. She also has a YouTube channel with the user name robynstamps. I seriously spent two hours watching her videos tonight getting ideas for all kinds of projects that I'd love to try. She makes the stamping look so easy. I'm normally intimidated by seeing all this crafty stuff because so much of it seems like it would be so time consuming and difficult. Not so!! I was really amazed by all she did in such a short amount of time. Plus, her videos are listed by project and last anywhere from about two to eight minutes so they're very easy to watch. If you've got any interest in paper crafts and things of the sort, go check out her blog. She's also got links to other blogs and suppliers so you can find everything you need. You can also go to the Cricut site and see the product line at www.cricut.com. They have message boards there with great ideas and tips. So, go get inspired and create something!! Besides, it's cold outside...what else are you gonna do? Happy scrapping!! Sue |
